Current AI systems send your data to big servers, where it can be stored, shared, or even sold. PALOMA does the opposite. Your Sprite gathers data by collaborating through a secure network, and it's pieced together only on your device.
This is called structural privacy, because privacy isn’t just a promise, it’s built into how the system works. There’s no central server to hack, leak, or spy on. Your AI stays with you, learns from you, and protects your information by design.
Decentralized & Swarming
PALOMA's design is the first of its kind. By a long shot. While conventional AIs are housed in massive, extractive data centres, PALOMA exists only on edge devices: your phone, your notebook, your desktop computer.
On each device lives a small AI, called a Sprite. Sprites communicate with one another and establish a global trust-network, much like human friendships.
At 1.5 billion parameters, each Sprite is not overly smart. But consider this: it only takes about 2,000 users for PALOMA to reach equivalent parameters of current AI models like Chat GPT.
